Robert Brentin brings extensive experience in the areas of product
development and management, innovation, project teams, portfolio management
and eBusiness.

His
roles have spanned from the front end of innovation to opportunity analysis
and validation to project implementation - improving returns on product
development investment through better problem definition, project selection
and delivery. Known for his strategic thinking and perceptive analysis, his
experience and insight helps clients progress from an objective assessment
their current situation to a workable plan leading to the next higher level
of performance.Through his career at Dow Chemical, Bob has gained an
in-depth knowledge of the global plastics and chemicals industry as well
as industries connected through the value chain. He has hands-on
experience in both R & D and market development in developing products and
applications for a wide range of industrial and consumer durable goods
applications. As Global Project Center Manager, he designed and set up the
pipeline / portfolio management system for new projects in a $2B global
business unit, assisted business leadership in aligning 75 projects with
strategy, while also coaching project teams in identifying and planning
for critical issues. His eBusiness experience started with creating new
Internet-enabled businesses and evolved to an expertise center that led
businesses and functions to adopt eBusiness tools and methods that would
increase efficiency and make it easier for customers to do business with
Dow. Recent implementations include collaborative workspaces, online
customer relationship management, communities of practice, web-based
surveys, and eSourcing technology for RFI, RFP and auctions. Bob has a
Chemical Engineering degree from Case Western Reserve University and an
MBA from Central Michigan University. He is a certified New Product
Development Professional. In addition, Bob is currently President-elect of
the Product Development & Management Association after having served
several years as Great Lakes Chapter President. He has served as
International Director for Toastmasters International and has worked on
the steering committee for his local Chamber of Commerce leadership
